Service We Provide
Minor Illness Clinic
These are run by Specialist Paramedic Practitioners and Specialist Nurse Prescribers for the diagnosis and treatment of a range of minor illnesses such as chest infections, diarrhoea and vomiting.
Coronary Heart Disease/Hypertension
This clinic is run by our practice nurse, Toni Tovey. She carries out an annual review on all patients who suffer from heart disease, i.e. heart attacks, angina, atrial fibrillation, heart failure, or who have had a stroke.
Asthma / COPD
These are run by Nurses , Lesley Goodall and Sandra Awcock for our respiratory disease patients. Sandra has a Diploma in asthma care and reviews our asthmatic patients every 15 months to optimise their treatments and attain the British Thoracic Society’s aims for good asthma care.
Lesley has a Diploma in COPD and look after patients with emphysema. Lesley can perform specialised lung function tests, prescribe treatment and refer to pulmonary rehabilitation programmes where appropriate.
Diabetes Clinics
Run jointly between Nurse Lesley Goodall and Dr Helen Wartnaby.
Travel Clinic
The practice is a registered Yellow Fever Centre and runs a comprehensive travel clinic. Advice on healthy travel, vaccinations, anti-malarial and food/water safety is given. See the above tab for more information.
Stop Smoke
Run daily by our health care assistant Tina Hall who is trained as a Stop Smoke doctor_baby_girlAdviser. Tina can perform specialised lung function tests and prescribe Nicotine Replacement Therapy
Immunisation Clinic
There are run weekly for the immunisations of babies, pre-school children and for 15 year olds. These clinic are run by Toni Tovey and Suzanne Stonehill
Mixed Clinics
These are run by our health care assistants. In these clinics there is blood taking, electrocardiograms, hearing tests, ear syringing are many other tasks undertaken.
